STRATEGIC INTENT

MBIA's incorporation reflects a strategy to unite the specialized expertise, experience and synergies of MBIA associates who have successfully delivered consulting services on all continents during the past 40 years. We specialize in providing Information Technology solutions for Agriculture, Environment, Forestry, and Natural Resource management systems.

MBIA believes that successful adoption and adaptation of Information Technologies (IT) must address mission-critical components - a
"4-D Approach":

DATA: MBIA recognizes that projects involving the management of biological systems require the presence of experienced experts for efficient assessment of available data. We also expand the meaning of data acquisition beyond physical resource definition to include information gained by informal and formal requirements analysis as it informs the design and development phases discussed below.

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT:: MBIA invites the active participation of the client early in the design phase in order to better understand project design parameters. Clients often need to assess alternative solutions or may require additional time to reach stakeholders consensus on the way forward. MBIA offers collaborative, participatory and iterative consultation processes appropriate to the unique needs of the client and stakeholder community.

DEPLOYMENT: MBIA views the IT deployment Phase as much broader sense than the installation of physical systems. System sustainability generally involves matching the system to the institutional capacity or undertaking the requisite institutional strengthening. At the current rate of innovation in the IT industry, technological change in the workplace usually requires a way to address changes in organizational and operational processes through tailor-made training programs or arrangements for extended user support.

SUCCESS STORIES

MBIA aims to bring to each consulting assignment due diligence, excellence and reliability - as defined by the client and key stakeholders..

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE) In 2006/2007 MBIA Director Maurice Bowen worked closely with Andrew Buchanan, RS Expert, in Abu Dhabi to develop a GIS-RS-Based Soil Information System (SIS) for the UAE. One outcome of that effort was that the system won an award for Excellence in GIS implementation..

INDONESIA From 2007 to 2010 a 20-member MBIA team successfully implemented an innovative Forestry Information System (FIS) in Indonesia for the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The MBIA Team worked effectively with the Provincial Agency for Forestry and Plantations in Banda Aceh, (Dinas Kehutanan dan Kehutanan) and with a broad stakeholder community in a challenging post-tsunami and post-conflict environment. Key outcomes included a customized technological solution for improving forest management and the delivery of a tailor-made capacity building program.

For MBIA these projects exemplify the kind of synergistic team approach we aim to offer all our clients.
